ENCOUNTERは、人と人が接触する瞬間と、その関係が必ずしも持続しないことを表現した作品です。SNSでは、私たちは絶えず他者の言葉や画像、感情に触れています。そこでは、互いの存在が一瞬交差し、影響を与え合いながらも、深く結びつくことなく離れていく関係が数多く生まれています。作品の中では、身体から生まれる体液や、生殖に関わる細胞が接触し、混ざり合い、再び離れていく状態を用いて、その不安定な関係を可視化しています。接触した二つの存在は完全に一つになるわけではなく、それぞれの形を残したまま、一時的に境界を曖昧にしていきます。こうした要素を用いているのは、出会いの中に、新しい関係や感情、あるいは意識の変化が生まれる可能性が含まれていると考えているためです。しかし、それが必ず何か確かな結びつきへと発展するわけではありません。出会い、触れ、混ざり合い、そして離れていく。ENCOUNTERは、SNSの中で日々繰り返される、不確実で一時的な人との接触を、生物的な現象として表現しています。
ENCOUNTER is a work that expresses the moment when people come into contact with one another, and the fact that such relationships do not necessarily endure. On social media, we are constantly exposed to the words, images, and emotions of others. In this space, countless relationships emerge in which one presence briefly intersects with another and exerts some influence, yet moves away again without forming a deep bond. In this work, bodily fluids and reproductive cells are used to visualize this unstable relationship as they come into contact, intermingle, and separate once again. The two entities that meet do not become completely unified; instead, they retain their own forms while temporarily blurring the boundary between them. These elements are used because I see in every encounter the possibility that a new relationship, emotion, or shift in consciousness may arise. However, this does not necessarily develop into any fixed or certain connection. To encounter, to touch, to merge, and then to drift apart again. ENCOUNTER expresses the uncertain and temporary forms of human contact that are repeatedly generated within social media, translating them into a biological phenomenon.
