本作は、SNS時代における人と人とのつながり、その依存性と循環構造をテーマにしています。「feed」などSNSを想起させる英単語を縦方向に組み、それらを反転・対称化し、合わせ鏡のように連続する造形へと変換しました。文字を形づくる皮膚や血管のような管状の質感と、全体を結びつける蜘蛛の糸のような構造は、人々が互いを求め、補完しながら、同時にその関係に捕らわれていく状態を表しています。SNSにおいて、インフルエンサーはフォロワーの反応によって存在し、フォロワーもまたインフルエンサーを介して自己の立場や価値を確認します。さらに、フォロワー自身が発信者となり、新たなフォロワーを獲得していくことで、その関係は反転しながら繰り返されます。見る側と見られる側、発信する側と反応する側。その役割が絶えず入れ替わり、互いを支えながら増殖していく、現代のコミュニケーションの姿を可視化した作品です。
This work explores human connection and its cyclical structure in the age of social media. Words associated with social media, such as “feed,” are arranged vertically and reflected to create mirror-like symmetrical forms. The tubular structures resemble skin, veins, or living tissue, while the web-like threads represent relationships that connect and support people, yet also entangle them. Influencers exist through the reactions of their followers, while followers may eventually become influencers themselves, creating new audiences and repeating the same structure. The roles of viewer and viewed, sender and responder, are constantly exchanged. This work visualizes contemporary communication as a self-reproducing spiral of mutual dependence—one that connects us while making it increasingly difficult to escape.
